ABC News: Foster parents of several Turpin siblings sentenced on child abuse charges


Foster parents who took in several children after they were rescued from previous abuse were sentenced on child abuse charges on October 18. It’s been an unimaginable, tragic course of events for the Turpin children whose parents severely abused them. The siblings were rescued from their home only to face more trauma.

 

According to ABC News, six of the 13 Turpin siblings filed a lawsuit against Riverside County and the private foster care agency tasked with protecting them, alleging they suffered “severe abuse and neglect” for years in foster care after their rescue.

 

This news is sadly similar to other national stories of horrific child abuse, such as the case of Judith Leekin, who took in several foster kids who she kept locked up, underfed and uneducated, and Nellie Johnson who physically abused children in her care.
