Child Injury Attorney Report: Investigation Launched Into Young Boy’s Christmas Eve Death
In what has been called a “heartbreaking” case, a 11-month-old toddler from Boynton Beach near West Palm Beach, Florida, died on Christmas Eve – and days before his first birthday – from what authorities call blunt force trauma. Now the family, the community, the Florida Department of Children and Families, and child welfare attorneys and advocates who fight for abused, neglected and injured kids are seeking answers.
The boy had a cracked skull and a knot on his forehead, according to news reports detailing the medical examiner’s findings.
While a memorial now resides outside the home the boy shared with his aunt and family, the residence now is quiet. DCF investigators removed the five children who lived in the home with the young boy’s aunt while they conduct their investigation. Read the article here.
No one has been charged. But another young Florida child has died and state investigators and the community are left to determine why it happened – and how similar deaths may be prevented in the future.
